Kerala Wildlife TourDay 01 : Arrive Cochin

On arrival transfer to your hotel. In the Afternoon sightseeing of Dutch Palace, built by Portuguese and presented to the Raja of Cochin in 1555 AD, Jewish Synagogue situated in Mattancherry, the Synagogue was built in 1568 AD, St. Francis Church – It is here the remains of Vasco da Gama were initially buried before it was taken to Portugal. Chinese fishing nets – Is said to have been brought from China by traders of Kubala Khan’s Court, they are used at high tide. Overnight stay at hotel.

Kerala Wildlife Day 02 : Cochin – Munnar, 130 km

After breakfast proceed to Munnar. India’s highest tea estate and home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr is located here. On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon proceed to sightseeing of Munnar & Mattupetty Dam. Overnight at Hotel.

Kerala Wildlife Tour -Munnar hills is situated at an altitude of 5000 to 8000 Ft above sea level. and is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala. This beautiful hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Sprawling Tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, and holiday facilities make this a popular resort town.

Munnar also has the highest peak in South India – Anamudi , which towers over 2695 m. Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking. The high ranges of Munnar were earlier known as Kannan Devan Hills, named after a certain Kannan Devan, who had been land lord in the Anchanad Valley on the eastern side of the district. The main cultivation crops in Munnar are Tea and Coffee.

After breakfast proceed to Sight seeing of Munnar- Eravikulam National Park. Overnight at your hotel.

Kerala Wildlife Tour Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is a sanctuary set up for the preservation of the Kerala Wildlife Tourr. The main inhabitant of the park is Nilgiri Tahr. Now the park has the largest known population of Tahr’s existing in the world. The park also shelters Atlas Moth, Elephants, Sambhar’s, Gaurs, Lion-tailed Macaque, Nilgiri, Langur, Tigers and Leopards.

Spread across an area of 97 sq. kms, the park exhibits the breathtaking natural splendor of rolling grasslands and exotic flowers. Anamudi, the highest peak south of Himalayas, towers over the sanctuary in majestic pride. The Atlas Moth, largest of its kind in the world, is a unique possession of the park.

Kerala Wildlife TourDay 04 : Munnar – Thekkady, 112 km

After breakfast proceed to Thekkady (Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary). On reaching Thekkady check in your hotel. Thekkady is a repository of rare and endangered flora and fauna, the valley is a major watershed for two important rivers, the Periyar and the Pumba. In the afternoon go for a boat ride at Periyar Tiger reserve to view the wildlife in the sanctuary. Overnight at Thekkady.

Kerala Wildlife Day 05 : Thekkady – Alleppey, 164 km

After breakfast transfer to Alleppey, popularly known as the ‘Venice of the East’. Here a houseboat awaits you for a magnificent backwater cruise. Overnight at Houseboat.

Kerala Wildlife Day 06 : Alleppey – Kumarakom, 30 km

After a leisure breakfast, bid adieu to your crew and drive to Kumarakom. On arrival check in at the hotel. After fresh -n-up get ready to explore the bird sanctuary. Overnight stay at hotel.

Kerala Wildlife Tour – Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is spread over 14-acres and is a favourite haunt of migratory and other water birds. Aruvikkuzhi Waterfalls, 2 Km down a mud lane is known for its beautiful landscape and cascading falls. The Vembanad Lake is a feast for the eyes with its traditional country crafts or Kettuvallams and canoes floating up and down. The lake and its surrounding area can be best explored on a houseboat. There is a small island, Pathiramanal or Midnight Sands which is worth a visit for its natural beauty.

Morning an escorted morning walk through the serene Kerala villages to experience the tropical morning and to see the flora and fauna within the sanctuary. Return to the resort for breakfast. After breakfast drive to Cochin Airport / Railway station to board the flight / train for onward destination.
